Happy Rudy Day!!!

It's the 25th and while I'm thinking of Christmas I'm not accomplishing much.

Football has squeezed the life out of me this weekend. Iowa winning with seconds left on the clock last night to remain undefeated and Minnesota loosing thanks to some bad reffing to go 6 & 1.

We'll see what the rest of the day holds.

Rudy Day is coming...

and it's coming up quick.

Rudy day is an idea I found out about online. For someone who loves Christmas this is right up my alley. Rudy day is celebrated on the 25th of each month. It's a day to work on Christmas projects - be it gifts or items for your home.

This Rudy day I'm hoping to watch White Christmas and listen to my favorite carols while I work on some of the following projects or maybe something totally different. :)

* Working out the *new* decorations I want to use in the bathroom. Going to move my tinsel tree here and I found some great vintage cards in my stash with PINK Christmas trees. Need to figure out how to frame them and what kind of grouping I want them in.
- and I need to figure out where all of my ceramics are going. I'm thinking the spare room but we'll see.
* working out decorations for the dining room and what table cloths and table decorations to use - this is usually my Santa room so lots of ideas floating around in my head.
* Christmas quilt - not sure if I'm up to it but I might break it out.
* Cowboy stocking - it's been in process for 2 years now.....sigh!
* ideas for Christmas cards - how many are we sending, do we want picture cards, do I want to make any?
* maybe some Ornies/bowl fillers - I saw an idea for cute snowmen and I think this will look cool on my kitchen counter. (Anything to help keep it clean. hehehe).

I am so excited for this holiday, even more than usual.

There's one more Halloween project that I want to finish up. Hoping I can get that done on Sat. Then I can focus on Christmas on Sun.

Rudy Day - projects!

So my Friday night didn't go like I had planned. But I had fun anyway.

I went to a neighbors garage sale and found two stuffed Boyd's Christmas bears for 50 cents each. Woo Hoo! I love Boyds bears and always wanted these.

So while I didn't work on anything I was thinking about Christmas.

Today I started on a Christmas project - I made this sketch a few weeks ago and I am excited to see it take shape. Still a work in progress but it goes fast.

I went to the library today and picked up some craft books and I can't wait to add some new projects to my list. Also checked out White Christmas - I hoped to use it to inspire me to work on projects. LOL I did everything but work on projects and then it was 7 and time for football.

Spent some time with my mom last night and today too. I was hoping to find some fabric scraps to make ornaments for my sorority sisters. I didn't find what I wanted but I did raid her stash. We'll see what I can come up with. I also found some more yarn to use on a few other projects.

I really need to make a list and try and prioritize everything I want to do. I know I won't be able to complete everything I've been thinking about.

Rudy Day!

I recently heard about Rudy Day and I'm hooked. Rudy Day is celebrated the 25th of every month in honor of Christmas and is named after Rudolph. People do Christmas projects on Rudy day and prepare for the holiday season.

Today I have to work and I think after work I'll do a little Christmas embroidery project that I have sketched out. I might celebrate on Saturday too, I think I want to make Christmas ornaments for all the sorority sisters. What can I make that relates to travel? Maybe a homemade luggage tag ornament? Hmmm that might actually work.

And there's always the purse I want to make....not sure if it will be a gift or for me. The afghans to finish, scrapbook pages for Mom and her book that's way out of date, Christmas card photo ops with Buddie, the list could go on and on and on. =)

Anyway have a great Rudy Day!
