of the end of a great weekend.
1) the squeak of the out door umbrella being lowered.
2) watching Boyd struggle to put the umbrella cover on.
3) the rip of Velcro when the chair cushions are being taken off the chairs.
4) the squeak of the bench box being opened to store the cushion.
5) struggling to carry 4 cushions to the box and then struggling to carry 4 cushions inside while trying to open the sliding door and keep the dog inside.
6) the spin of the washer or dishwasher trying to catch up on all the chores.
7) Watching the Food Network Challenge show - the cake versions. And enjoying all of the amazing cakes.
8) Preparing everything for work and for my cake class
9) feeling blue because the weekend is almost over
10) Having that I did a lot this weekend and I'm so tired feeling. Hoping that I get to bed early enough to get some good quality sleep.
We had a great weekend. It felt like Saturday lasted forever and today just flew by. My sole goal was to spend time relaxing in the back yard - I did for 10 mins or so. Oh well maybe next time.

Someone's having a birthday
On August 1 Buddie will be turning 3. I can hardly believe it.
Today we celebrated his birthday with Boyd's sister, her husband, their 2 grandsons, and their dog Molly. And Grandma was here too. =) We grilled out brat patties and had potato salad and the white marshmallow salad (my favorite).
Buddie's cake - I was running late so Boyd convinced me not to add Happy Birthday Buddie!

July or September?
My calendar says it's the middle of July the weather feels a lot more like fall. Driving home today the clouds looked like they were full of snow. I kept checking the temp gage....so I was a little tired. :P I don't think it made it above 65 degrees today. Felt cold and wet most of the day. Buddie loved playing outside we played frisbe and ball. He is such a spoiled boy!
Lots going on around town this weekend. Not sure if I'll make it out to partake...it's also my class reunion. Today I really feel old. haha. But my coworkers all think I'm 6 yrs younger than I am. Sweet!
The hubby is working the weekend so I'm trying to figure out what I really want to do. I need to get my mom's PC fixed - it's running super slow. I wanted to hit the library on Sat since they aren't open on Sun and they are having an open house thing which will make it pretty busy. Plus the parade cuts through the short routes to the library - I know I'm whining.
Made some cakes tonight just for fun using the little oval pans. They puffed up and look like little footballs. Now to figure out what I want to do. One could be for my oldest nephew who turned 15 earlier this week and one could be the payback I owe a coworker. Of course then Boyd will be mad - he wants cake.
ahhh on to the weekend.......

12 on the 12 the July edition
So I forgot until I saw Miss Martha's post that today is the 12th. Wow, the year is already half over and it's less than six months till Christmas. Wish my local craft store would realize we don't want the Christmas decs lining the aisle already. (it makes me want to put my tree up already).
Any way back to the 12 on the 12th as I said I forgot so I'll try to paint the picture with words and see if I can follow up with pics later.
1. Started out the morning in the best way possible. Sleeping in till 6 (haha) and watching my cake shows that I record through the week. I can't get enough of the Cake Boss or the Ace of Cakes. Boyd surprised me with a cappuccino and cinna melts. - love it!
2. Got my cake bag ready for class... Making flowers again this week.
3. Improvised an egg casserole recipe - hashbrowns, 4 eggs, milk and cheese with assorted spices.
4. Road Trip....Mom and I went to a family friends house to pick her raspberries. All that red, gold, and black goodness. Yummy!
5. Had lunch with our friend and enjoyed visiting with her an my mom. I'm jealous that mom left her peaches and cream - guess I need to go visit more often that's when I get the leftovers.
6. When we got home my mom headed up the stairs first. The instant she hit the steps I heard Buddies stranger danger growl. My heart stopped as I tried to get in front of her. She said she wasn't scared but I as the doggie momma was terrified.
7. Laundry - only two loads - woo hoo!
8. Dishes - unloaded, reloaded & wash, waiting to be unloaded again.
9. Having Raspberries and Vanilla pudding for dessert - eating dessert first =) It was one of my grandma's favorite summer desserts. I was sad I didn't have french vanilla.
10. Surfing the net and catching up on all of the blogs in my blog reader.
11. Enjoying time with my boys. The hubby is sick and the puppy wants to play!
12. Relaxing at the end of a great weekend. I read some articles today about Stay-cations and the things you can do at home to make it more relaxing. I realized that for us it's just a mindset. This summer we've had the best weekends at home! It's all about taking time to realize that we are having fun at home - no set plans and just making an effort to relax.
Well it's time to head out for frisbee lessons with Buddie. Hopefully I can catch some pics.

Happy 4th of July
I wish everyone a happy and safe holiday weekend.
So far all of our fingers, toes and paws are still intact. =)
We are having a quiet night at home. I decided to watch some fireworks on TV rather than driving around the country looking for a spot.

Got Cake?
We do!
Finished Course 1 a few weeks ago and this was my final cake - Loved making Wilton Roses once I figured out how to hold the tip.

Now we're on to Course 3, I'll take course 2 next.
This class introduced me to fondant - not so sure I like working with it but mine turned out awesome. The teacher was shocked at how well I did.
So without further ado I present my present

Anyone want to place an order?
